Located approximately 15 minutes' walk from the 1300s Zen Tenryu-ji Temple, the elegant Kadensho, Arashiyama Onsen, Kyoto - Reopening On 2026 Hotel offers a spa salon, including a sauna and hot public baths. Boasting a location a short way from the Togetsukyo Bridge, this 5-star traditional hotel features 11 rooms as well as a gift shop and a restaurant.

The hotel offers a place to stay in the Nishikyo Ward district of Kyoto, 400 m from the Horinji Temple. The Otagi Nenbutsu-ji Temple is in the immediate vicinity of the Kadensho, Arashiyama Onsen, Kyoto - Reopening On 2026, while Hankyu Arashiyama bus stop is just 5 minutes' walk away.

Bamboo and a grove are near the property, and the historic wooden Nijo Castle is about 7 km away. This Kyoto hotel stands within 20 minutes' drive of Kinkaku-ji Zen Buddhist Temple, popular with pilgrims and tourists alike.

The Kadensho, Arashiyama Onsen, Kyoto - Reopening On 2026 is located in Kyoto, within 8 km of Karasuma train station.

In addition, there is an electric kettle and a fridge for self-catering purposes. A separate toilet and a shower are provided in the private bathrooms along with a hair dryer and towels.

Leisure & Business

You will find a hot tub in the pool area.

“In my opinion, while its location near Arashiyama's attractions and train station is ideal, this large-scale ryokan might suit first-timers more than seasoned travelers seeking an intimate experience. The natural hot springs, including five private baths, stand out, but the dining experience seems to lack a certain finesse. It's a comfortable base for exploring, but those seeking refined traditional hospitality may find it somewhat wanting.”

Kadensho offers a convenient location right across from Arashiyama Station on the Hankyu Line, making it ideal for exploring the Arashiyama bamboo forest and other nearby attractions. Many guests appreciate the ryokan experience with options for Japanese dinner and breakfast. Complimentary amenities such as post-onsen ice cream and late-night ramen are widely enjoyed; however, some guests have noted that the ramen's taste and quality can be disappointing. Private onsen baths, both indoor and outdoor, provide a relaxing experience, and some are available without a long wait in the mornings.

small room limited breakfast choice
The location was great and easy to find.. The staff clearly stated appropriate etiquette for this traditional hotel.
The room I had was small. I found the breakfast disappointing. It only served Japanese food. There was no self-service and the hotel did not offer a menu to choose from so I ended up eating elsewhere.

mixed experience at this onsen

stale food inedible food
the traditional rooms were very clean.
unfortunately, the food really let me down, as it seemed stale. dinner was so bad that i skipped breakfast, even though i had already paid extra. (i usually love japanese food!) i wouldn't recommend getting the half-board option.

adequate but underwhelming experience

inadequate queue system no ironing boards
The onsen lacked a proper queue system resulting in a chaotic free-for-all. i also found that there were no ironing boards available. Staff said there was only one for the entire hotel. this is inadequate for a hotel of this size

Satisfactory stay near the train station

train station great location private onsens private bath comfortable bed massive bed inflexible dining rigid dining high premium significant premium bicycle rental rental service
The hotel is near the train station, very convenient for travel. Access to the Arashiyama area is excellent. I found the availability of five private onsens 24/7 particularly good. The lighting system shows if they are occupied. The bedroom was clean and the bed was comfortable.
I found the dining hours inflexible. I was asked to leave breakfast at 9:30 am by restaurant staff. The experience was not as good as I expected considering the high price. There was no complimentary bicycle rental.
